RECRUITING: Eugene an LSU no-show?

Rumors have been circulating that Les Miles is putting the full court press on Destrehan star Jai Eugene, the nation's No. 1 cornerback prospect, trying to coax him into a visit at LSU this weekend.

Some feel Eugene, who committed to Michigan almost two weeks ago, might schedule an official visit to LSU on the last weekend of the reruiting season. However, Tiger Rag caught up with Destrehan coach Steve Robichaux and that doesn't seem to be the case.

As of today, Eugene had done nothing to indicate he would be setting up a visit to Baton Rouge.

"As of right now, he has told me he is Michigan all the way," Robichaux told Sonny Shipp Tuesday afternoon. "I know LSU's coaches are tryign to get him in this weekend. But as of right now, nothing has been set up."

From the looks of the latest recruiting boards, the Tiger coaching staff is still in search of one final cornerback commitment.

"LSU has done a good job of staying on him, but the last Jai told me was he wanted to get away. Michigan is where he wants to go."

Tiger Rag will try again later this evening to get a comment from Eugene himself.

"Nothing, of course, is set in stone, but that is all I have right now," Robichaux added.
