BREAKING NEWS: Eugene changes his mind

When Jai Eugene committed to Michigan at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl many of those who follow LSU recruiting were stunned.

A little over three weeks later, Eugene stunned those same people except in a different way.

"I decided on Sunday that Michigan was too far from home and I'm going to LSU," Eugene told Tiger Rag. "I called coach Miles and told him I wanted to be a Tiger."

How did Miles take the news?

"He was shocked to say the least," said Eugene "He couldn't believe it. He said he was excited and glad to have me on board."

What prompted the nation's No. 1 cornerback to make the switch?

"I hated to leave my son and after thinking everything over it just hit me," he said. "LSU has everything I want. I can get a good education, play for championships and be close to my family. I can't ask for much more than that."
