Lady Tigers look to bounce back

LSU's second-ranked women's basketball team hosts Arkansas on Sunday at 2 p.m. CST in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, looking to bounce back from Thursday's loss at Florida.

LSU (22-2, 10-1 SEC) fell, 79-78, in overtime to the Gators on Thursday night, but still hold a one-game lead over Tennessee in the Southeastern Conference standings.
With three games left in the regular season, the Lady Tigers magic number is two to clinch a second straight conference title.
"This Arkansas team is the perfect team for us to come back and try to solidify some of the things that we not only did not do well at Florida in terms of defending the basketball, but there were some of the same things we didn't do well in Fayetteville," LSU head coach Pokey Chatman said. "We were lucky as apposed to good in some of our possession the first time against Arkansas. This should be a good game to try to correct some of those things."
Arkansas (13-11, 5-6 SEC) has not played since losing to Kentucky last Sunday in Fayetteville. The Lady Razorbacks have lost five straight games, including a 93-59, decision to LSU at home on Feb. 2.
Seimone Augustus, who is coming off a career-high 35-point performance against Florida, leads the Lady Tigers into the game. The senior is averaging a league-best 21.7 points per game.
Sylvia Fowles, who had 23 points and 16 rebounds against the Gators, is posting 16.8 points and a conference-best 11.7 rebounds per outing.
Junior guard Leslie Howard leads Arkansas with 11.1 points, while Kristin Peoples is posting 11.9 points per game coming off the bench.
This will be the 28th meeting between the two schools. LSU leads the series 18-9 with seven straight wins, including the victory in Fayetteville earlier this month.
LSU will visit Alabama on Thursday in the final regular season road game on Thursday at 7 p.m. CST at Coleman Coliseum.
