This year Catholic head coach David Comeaux can lay claim to having the top tight end in the state in Mitch Joseph but another player who is making some waves of his own is big Josh Dworaczyk.
Dworaczyk plays defensive end for the Panthers but at 6-foot-6, 265 pounds and with good quickness, he also has several coaches talking about moving him over to the other side of the ball.
"A lot of those same guys who like Mitch also like Josh," Comeaux said. "He has tremendous growth potential along with surprising agility and speed for a big man. With his quickness and the likelihood that he will probably get up to 280 pounds by his senior year there is a lot of talk of him playing on the edge at tackle."
Comeaux said that Dworaczyk does not have any offers but he is getting a lot of attention from LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Clemson, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech and several others.
In years past, there have been a few of Catholic's players who have signed with some of the smaller D-I state schools.
Joseph has big-time written all over him but Comeaux thinks Dworaczyk could be in the same boat.
"I think he is capable of playing in the SEC or some other big conference," said Comeaux. "I think he has that type of potential because of his size and also because of his desire and motivation. He is going to surprise some people when he goes to some camps and next year."
