"This is a tremendous opportunity for us to showcase our program on the national scene," LSU coach Sue Gunter said. "This has been a long time coming and I think people are starting to acknowledge our program. This is the type of national exposure we have been looking for. Now we just have to go out and put on a good show."

LSU returns all five starters to go along with the nation's top prep player in Seimone Augustus from a second round NCAA Tournament team a year ago. Penn State  posted a 23-12 overall mark a year ago after reaching the Sweet 16 at the NCAA Tournament.
