One of the top defensive line prospects in the state of Arkansas, L.M. Goza defensive tackle Gary McClellan has been talking to several schools as of late, but remains undecided as to where he will play at the next level.

McClellan, a 6'5" 295 lb. junior with 5.2 speed, received all-conference and all-state honors last season after recording 62 tackles and 11 sacks, and looks to play a key role for L.M. Goza again next season.

He has already received a scholarship offer from Ole Miss, and says that he has also been contacted by Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Kansas and LSU.

"I don't have a preference right now," McClellan said, "I would like to know who I'm dealing with before I sign anything."

McClellan expressed a desire to get to know coaches from all the schools more, and added that he has spoken to coaches at Ole Miss, Oklahoma State and Arkansas, while the others have sent him letters in the mail.

While saying that he did not have any favorites as of yet, he did say that he could be interested in looking at LSU if he got an opportunity to speak to the coaching staff.

What is McClellan looking for in a program?

"I'm looking for somewhere with a friendly coaching staff, a high quality weight room, and a good student-athlete program that cares about how I perform in the classroom," McClellan said.

After attending junior days at Ole Miss and Arkansas, the standout lineman walked away with several things he liked about each program.

"Everyone at Ole Miss was great and very friendly," he said, "and Arkansas has an enormous weight room. I was impressed with that."

When spring practice opens next week, McClellan says he has been told to expect visits from Arkansas, Oklahoma State, LSU and Ole Miss, and is unsure about any others.

When coaches do pop up to see him in action they should see a player who gets up and down the field and someone who will make a solid defensive tackle at the next level.
