Kevin Bryant Talks About LSU

Kevin Bryant's 6-7, 370-pound frame has earned him attention from schools all over the nation as one of the Sunshine State's top offensive tackle prospects for 2007 and he has the Tigers in his top four.

Kevin Bryant's 6-7, 370-pound frame has earned him attention from schools all over the nation as one of Florida's top offensive guards.

The Hallandale (Fla.) giant is one of the strongest players in the entire country with a 515-pound bench max and all of the big boys have taken notice.

"I've received 20 or 25 offers, somewhere in that range," Bryant said. "Right now, I'm keeping my eye on USC, Oklahoma, LSU and Florida."

Bryant said the thing that he wants schools to show him is that academics will come first.

"Academics are No. 1," said Bryant, who claims that his current GPA is around a 2.4 and that he plans to take the SAT on June 3, and the ACT on June 11. "Everything else, football and stuff, will take care of itself. The school I pick will have to make sure they have a nice tutoring program that can help me and I will need to study hard because education is the most important thing."

Bryant has already visited LSU unofficially and he came away impressed with more than just the football side of things.

"I saw the facilities and I liked them," said Bryant. "I liked the campus and all that; I think it's pretty cool. I saw some kids hanging out and just enjoying themselves and that's what I like--the campus life. When I saw that I thought to myself, ‘I could fit in somewhere like that.'"

Bryant also said he likes the coaching staff.

"I hung out with the offensive line coach, and we got along pretty well," he said. "I met Les Miles a few times and I think he's a pretty good coach."

Bryant said he enjoys playing on the o-line because it's therapeutic for him.

"The thing I like best about playing on the line is being nasty," said Bryant. "I get to take out all my anger and frustration and leave it all on the field."
