Signing a top-notch quarterback was a major point of emphasis for LSU in the Class of 2007 and the Tigers took a huge step forward towards accomplishing that goal by getting a commitment from Jarrett Lee.

What gave the Tigers the edge?
"The visit is what gave them the edge," Lee said. "When we went there it was only a 4 and a half hour drive so that was a big plus. Then it was the facilities, the coaches, the atmosphere, the campus. It really was everything about LSU."
On his unofficial visit, Lee also spent quite a bit of time with LSU offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher.
"We talked a lot about the offense and comparing it to what we do now," said Lee. "They do a lot of things we do. We also talked about the depth chart and how they didn't sign a quarterback last year. That was something I looked at too."
Lee said he was glad to have recruiting behind him and now he is looking forward to being a Tiger.
"It [recruiting] was fun for a little while but it started to get hectic," he said. "Now, I can focus on my senior season and get ready for LSU. It's exciting to have it over with."
With Lee in the fold, LSU now has nine commitments for 2007.
