Ahmad Black, a 5-10, 170 pound corner with 4.5 speed, helped lead his team to the Class 5A state championship last season with 70 tackles and six interceptions. He has consistently listed LSU as one of his favorites and now he appears ready to make a decision.
"I'm trying to commit," Black told Tiger Rag. "I talked to the coaches earlier today and I'm supposed to talk to coach Miles later today. Once I talk to him then I guess it will be official."
Black said that he and Hammond had talked about playing together and when the big tight end made the call on Friday it made his decision a little easier.
"Me and Jordan had been talking
about LSU and once he committed it made we want to," said Black, who claims over
10 offers from the likes of Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ole Miss, West Virginia,
Ohio State, and Tennessee, amongst others. "

LSU already has two guys projected to play corner committed in this class in Barry Valcin and John Williams so things are getting tight at that position since the Tigers may not be able to sign its full allotment of 25 players in this class.
If the numbers work out and there
is room for three corners then Black and
"They are recruiting Steven Wilks for outside linebacker and we are trying to get him to come too," Black said.
