Tiger fans have been anxious to find out the status of some of LSU's 2006 signees because there have been all kinds of stories going around about who made the grade and who did not.
The news appears to be good for
Chris Mitchell as he says he is already in
The news is not so good for Shomari Clemons.
"I had some problems and I'm probably not going to be coming down until January," Clemons said. "I had two correspondence courses that did not clear the (NCAA) Clearinghouse."
Clemons said that the news caught him completely off guard.
"We all thought that everything was good until about a week and a half before I was supposed to report," he said. "They flagged two of my classes and said they wouldn't be accepted."
That was news that did not sit well with either Clemons, or the LSU coaches, but he does have a plan for getting to LSU.
"It was very disappointing for me and coach Searels," Clemons explained. "I had to bite my lip and just to say to myself that it will take a little more time to get there. But, I'm going to take two correspondence courses that the NCAA will take and I'll be down there in January."
In the meantime, the former
"I'm working construction right now and just working out a lot," he said. "I'm staying in shape and just staying positive."
