"We've been friends since the ninth grade," said Brown, who hails from Lakeland (Fla.). "We've played on the same defense and always competed with each other. Him being at LSU could factor into my decision."

So far, Scout.com's No. 4 ranked DT has received more than 20 offers from schools like Florida State, Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Maryland and Ohio State. With more than 20 offers to choose from he says that five standout.

"Right now, my top teams are Florida State, Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss and LSU," said Brown.

Brown said he is being recruited by LSU defensive line coach Earl Lane and that he enjoys conversations with him.

"I talked to him not too long ago," said Brown. "He just talked about LSU and how he would like me to come visit."

Brown said he hasn't yet set a date on a time to visit LSU and that he likes the Tigers for a number of reasons.

"They have good coaches," said Brown. "I like coach Lane, in fact I just got through talking with him. I like the way he talks to his players about more than just football. LSU has a good campus and they have a lot of good rivalry schools."

Brown said he started watching LSU a couple of years ago.

"They are a great team and they go hard every game, no matter who they are playing they give maximum effort," said Brown.

Although Brown didn't make it to an LSU camp this summer, he did showcase his skills for a number of teams at this year's Down and Dirty Camp in Daytona.

"There were a lot of coaches there," said Brown. "I think I did pretty good."

Note** Brown admitted that his grades needed improvement and that he has not yet qualified on his SAT/ACT.
