There was little to report Tuesday morning. Alley Broussard was back in practice after taking Monday off for a little rehab session. Word is that he did not participate in the scrimmage though.
Luke Sanders remained in a green, "limited-contact" jersey, but Miles later said he should be just about ready to go without it. Derrick Odom was "nicked" up and was also clad in green Tuesday morning.
We got an up close look at Ricky Dixon in wide receiver drills this morning. The true freshman and former high school teammate of Ryan Perrilloux is visibly heavier and does not possess the spring in his step like in those of fellow freshmen receivers Jared and Chris Mitchell.
Jared Mitchell dazzled everyone with a juggling catch caught just before falling out of bounds in amongst the media. He did, by the way, keep his feet in bounds.
Chris Mitchell wasn't going to be outdone by the man who shares his last name. On the opposite side of the field, the other Mitchell made a diving grab on a fade route, which brought praise from receivers coach Todd Monken.
Brandon LaFell continues to shine and shows a great deal of promise. There is no doubt from watching LaFell that he is going to be a major factor in the offense.
Finally, some focus was placed on Dwayne Bowe, who dropped two passes early in position drills. JaMarcus Russell dropped a perfect pass into Bowe's breadbasket as he streaked down the sideline. It touchded nothing but the ground as it passed directly through Bowe's awaiting arms. Just minutes later on a passing route, Bowe let another ball slip through his mits.
"He does drop one every now and then," barked offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher. "The stock market just went down."
