PRACTICE REPORT: FRiday, Aug. 18 - Afternoon

No way the Tigers were going to get dosed with Friday afternoon's shower. LSU coach Les Miles didn't even risk beginning Friday's second workout and final two-a-day practice outdoors. LSU completed its final workout before tomorrow's scrimmage inside the LSU Indoor Facility.

The media was allowed just two periods Friday afternoon so time was scarce.

However, Charles Scott was ssen in action despite a sore left knee. He was wearing a grey pad over that knee, but it didn't seem to impair his ability run the drills.

Al Woods, who was with the team for his second straight practice, did not dress at all and stood beside position coach Earl Lane during Friday's second workout. Woods had taken part in some drills Friday morning, however, he did not don the full pads like the rest of the team wearing only a helmet, jersey and shorts.

A No. 68 was spotted with the offensive linemen. His name has not yet been released, but whoever the young man may be is, he is replacing Alonzo Manuel on the 105-man roster. Sports information sources stated he was called up from the practice squad. He will not, however, receive Manuel's scholarship.

The Tigers will take the field in Tiger Stadium tomorrow morning at 9:55 for the first major scrimmage of Fall Camp. Miles rewards the team with Sunday off before a 3:45 p.m. practice on Monday.
