Smith eyes LSU, Tyrus Thomas

If Tracy Smith decides to go to LSU, he said he hopes he could be another Tyrus Thomas for the Tiger team. The 6-7, 230-pound power forward out of Mt. Zion Christian Academy in Durham, NC, grabbed 11 rebounds and hit 24 points a game as a junior.

He spent his summer at camps including the ABCD camp in which he said he felt he did real well.

"I did real good," said Smith. "I feel like I really got out there and showed what I could do. I had one of my better performances of the summer."

Smith has received numerous offers from schools like NC State, Louisville, LSU, Kentucky, Charlotte, Florida State, Oklahoma State and USC. However, he hasn't been able to narrow his choices down yet.

"I'm still looking at them all," Smith said. "I'm being recruited by coach (Butch) Pierre and I talked to him not too long ago. He sounds real cool and I want to meet with him."

Smith said one of his main factors in his decision will be playing time.

"Playing time will be big," said Smith. "I just need to get to these schools so I can see the campus and see how I get along with the coaching staff."

Just to show how far a trip to the Final Four can get you with recruits; what piques Smith's interest about LSU?

"I don't know… I like Big Baby," he admitted. "Anytime a school gets to the Final Four you take notice."

Smith said he hasn't set up his official visits yet, but he is giving consideration to LSU.

"I'd really like to meet with the coaches," said Smith. "I haven't decided on anything yet, but LSU might get one."

Note**Smith said he has a decent GPA at 2.8 or 2.9
