5-star DT Has 4 Visits In Mind

Scout.com's No. 4 ranked defensive tackle John Brown is looking for schools to take his official and unofficial visits to, and for him, LSU is one of them.

John Brown told Tiger Rag that he plans on attending games at Florida, Florida State, Alabama and LSU.

"I've thought about where I'm going to take my visits, but I haven't sat down and made any certain plans yet," said the 6-2, 290-pound Brown. "I plan on attending games at Florida, Florida State, Alabama and LSU."

The 5-star prospect did say he plans to follow fellow teammate Jordan Hammond to LSU for whichever game he intends to attend.

"I don't really know which game exactly I will go see, but it will probably depend on which one Jordan goes to," said the Lakeland (Fla.) product.

Brown said he has received many offers but is focusing on Florida, Florida State, LSU and Alabama, and they all have a few things in common.

"All of those schools have great defenses and that is something I want to be a part of," he said. "I am looking for a school with good coaches and good player coach relationships. I want a school with coaches who make people better and can get them to that next level. But most of all is a good defense."

Brown said that the last time he talked with the coach recruiting him from LSU, defensive line coach Earl Lane, he told him they would be happy to have him and that he would fit in really well in Baton Rouge.

Although Brown said he hasn't yet taken a trip to Tiger Stadium, he did say he visited Florida and Florida State on game day.

"It was real good up there," he said. "There were a lot of fans getting into the game and fan support is something that is important to me."

So far this season, everything is going according to plan for Brown and his teammates. The team is 2-0 and Brown said he is playing well. Their plan is to repeat going undefeated as they did last year.

The Dreadnaughts are having to do it with one of their biggest stars Jordan Hammond, who is recovering from knee surgery, but Brown said that Hammond still has a hand in things.

"He just helps everybody on the team," said Brown. "Whether it's on the field or off the field, he's a good friend. He's the head of this football team and we look to him."
