AUBURN, Ala. - In a classic SEC defensive battle, LSU's last second comeback came up four yards short as Auburn celebrated a 7-3 win over the Tigers Saturday afternoon at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Craig Davis was tackled at the four yard line as time expired allowing the homsetanding Tigers to escape with the four-point victory.

Key Play: On second and 10 from the Auburn 39, JaMarcus Russell tucks the ball and rumbles up the middle for a gain of 12 yards. He did fumble the ball forward, which was recovered by Dwayne Bowe at the Auburn 27 for a first down.


Note: The field goal was a career-long for David. The sophomore kicker's previous long was from 35 yards. He has now connected on 6 of 7 career field goal attempts

Key Play: On first and 10 from the LSU 21, Brandon Cox connected with fullback Carl Stewart on a 19 yard gain to the Tigers' two. The LSU defense held two straight plays from inside the two before allowing Cox's TD run.


Note: Brandon Cox's 1-yard touchdown run was the first allowed by the Tiger defense in 16 quarters, dating back to the second period of the 2005 SEC Championship Game versus Georgia. It was also the first touchdown allowed by LSU this season. The Tigers were the only team in the country not to have allowed a touchdown so far this season.
