Croom has done an admirable job trying to clean up the mess he inherited from Jackie Sherrill. But after a little more than two seasons, the Bulldogs may be thug-free, but wins have been scarce. The Bulldogs have a decent defense, but it isn't allowed to be effective since they are on the field so much. Not to be too blunt, but the State offense downright stinks. It's awful, real bad and unfortunately for Croom, the Bulldogs will not score in Tiger Stadium on Saturday. Sure this game is being played in the morning in Death Valley, which typically equates to LSU being really flat. The Tigers may trudge through this one, but the defense will pitch its' first shutout of the season. Remember, the Bulldogs lost to Tulane two weekends ago - AT HOME! That is the same Green Wave team which LSU pummelled last week 49-7. Judging from Mississippi State's inept offense and the fact they actually lost to lowly Tulane, expect this one to get ugly - fast!
