PREVIEW: Here's our call on LSU/UF

Just a day away from Saturday's showdwon in The Swamp, we at Tiger Rag make our call on the game.

LSU beat Florida only once in 12 years while Steve Spurrier was coaching the Gators, that being the upset of No. 1 Florida in 1997. Since the Ole Ball Coach left Gainesville, LSU is 3-1 against the Gators, having won their last two games played at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The Gators are currently ranked No. 5 in the country and are being considered among the top teams in the national championship debate. Chris Leak and Co. will be primed to help state their case with a win over LSU.

Advantage: Florida

Florida has an outstanding quarterback in Chris Leak, and the Gators seem to have bought into Urban Meyer and his system. Florida has struggled at times this season, edging out Tennessee on the road and stumbling a bit at home against Kentucky. Alabama even led the Gators 10-7 in the third quarter before Meyer's team rallied for a 28-13 victory. What Florida did exhibit is their ability to continue playing hard throughout the game and rallied for wins in Knoxville and against the Crimson Tide. However, the Gators haven't faced a defense as physical as LSU's. The Tiger stoppers will do their best to make Leak remember last season and will constantly pressure the Florida quarterback. If Russell can continue to throw the ball the way he did against Mississippi State, LSU will make it three in a row in Gainesville.

LSU 24, Florida 20
