Tigers in the NFL - Week 5

Tiger Rag's weekly spotlight on former LSU players in the National Football League.

RB Joseph Addai (Indianapolis Colts) – Addai carried the ball 13 times for 62 yards and had 2 catches for 15 yards in the Colts 14-13 overtime win over the Titans. His longest run of the day was for 15 yards.



LB Eric Alexander (New England Patriots) – Alexander registered a tackle on special teams in the Patriots 20-10 win over Nick Saban's Dolphins.



DL Kenderick Allen (Green Bay Packers) – Allen was placed on injured reserve on 10/4.



WR Bennie Brazell (Cincinnati Bengals) – Brazell has been on injured reserve since week one and is still on the shelf.


FS Ryan Clark (Pittsburgh Steelers) – Clark intercepted his first pass of the season and led the Steelers in tackles with 9 (6 solos  3 assists) in Pittsburgh's 23-13 loss to San Diego.



WR Michael Clayton (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – Clayton was shut down by the Saints' secondary as he managed only 1 catch for 7 yards. He did break off a 27-yard run on an end around in the Bucs' 24-21 loss to the Saints.



DB Travis Daniels (Miami Dolphins) – Daniels started at right corner and had 7 stops (3 solos  4 assists) in the loss to New England.



RB Domanick Davis (Houston Texans) – The Texans were off this week.



OL Alan Faneca (Pittsburgh Steelers) – Faneca got his usual start at left guard in Pittsburgh's loss to San Diego.



RB Kevin Faulk (New England Patriots) – Faulk returned 2 punts for 28 yards and a kickoff for 15 yards. On offense, he caught a pass for 15 yards and ran once but lost a yard.



DB Randall Gay (New England Patriots) – "Blue" Gay was recently put on injured reserve and will miss the remainder of the season for the Patriots.



DL Jarvis Green (New England Patriots) – Green had 2 solo tackles and sacked the quarterback once in New England's win over Miami.



WR Devery Henderson (New Orleans Saints) – Henderson was nursing a shoulder injury and was not active for the Saints win over the Bucs.



DL Marquise Hill (New England Patriots) – Hill was not part of the active roster again this week for New England.



LB Bradie James (Dallas Cowboys) – Bradie had 2 stops (1 solo  1 assist) and he broke up 3 passes in the 38-24 loss to Philly.



CB Tory James (Cincinnati Bengals) – The Bengals were off this week.



P Donnie Jones (Miami Dolphins) – Jones punted 3 times and averaged 41.7 yards a kick with 1 punt downed inside the 20-yard line. His longest boot was 49 yards in the 20-10 loss to the Patriots.



WR Eddie Kennison (Kansas City Chiefs) – "Boo" caught 4 passes for 48 yards and ran once for a 2 yard gain in a 23s-20 win over Arizona. His longest catch went for 17 yards.



OL Kevin Mawae (Tennessee Titans) – Mawae started at center in the Titans loss to the Colts.



OL Todd McClure (Atlanta Falcons) – McClure and the Falcons were off this week.



DT Anthony McFarland (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – McFarland was nearly non-existent in Tamp Bay's loss to New Orleans. He started at defensive tackle but did not register any tackles and was taken completely out of the game by the Saints offensive line.



OL Rudy Niswanger (Kansas City Chiefs) – Niswanger saw action as a backup in the Cheifs 23-20 win over the Cardinals.



DE Melvin Oliver (San Francisco 49ers) – After starting last week at tackle, Oliver was back starting at his defensive end spot. He scored his first touchdown as an NFL player on a 12-yard fumble return and finished with 2 tackles (assists) and quarterback hurry. San Francisco defeated Oakland 34-20.



CB Ronnie Prude (Baltimore Ravens) – Prude had 1 tackle on special teams in the Ravens 13-3 loss to the Broncos.



WR Josh Reed (Buffalo Bills) – Reed was held without a catch for the first time this season as Buffalo got blasted by Chicago 40-7. On the year, Reed has 15 catches.



DB Mark Roman (San Francisco 49ers) – Roman had 4 stops (2 solos  2 assists) in the 49ers win over the Raiders.



TE Robert Royal (Buffalo Bills) – Royal has started every game for the Bills but the Bears did not allow him to catch a pass in week 5.



DE Marcus Spears (Dallas Cowboys) – Spears was held in check with 3 stops (2 solos,  1 assist) and he also broke up a pass in the loss to the Eagles.



RB LaBrandon Toefield (Jacksonville Jaguars) – Toefield was not active for week 5.



CB Corey Webster (New York Giants) – Webster started at corner and registered 1 solo tackle in a 19-3 win over Washington.



OL Andrew Whitworth (Cincinnati Bengals) – Whitworth and the Bengals were off this week.



DT Kyle Williams (Buffalo Bills) – Kyle had a solo tackle in his reserve role in Buffalo's 40-7 loss to the Bears.



DT Claude Wroten (St. Louis Rams) – Wroten registered a couple of tackles (assists) seeing his most extensive action of the season with the Rams. St. Louis defeated Green Bay 23-20.
