The Tigers hook up with Kentucky for the first time since 2002. While LSU is down after a loss at Florida, Les Miles' team should have enough in the tank to handle Kentucky.
Is there a better possible time for
play the Tigers. LSU's team and its fans are down in the mouth this week after
blowing a huge opportunity at Florida last Saturday. The Wildcats, who can
be explosive on offense at times, have enough firepower to catch LSU off guard
and make things quite interesting. The Tigers could come out flat after last
week's disappointing loss and make the same mistakes again, which the Wildcats
would love the opportunity to take advantage of.
Don't count on it though. Brooks
should be commended for an outstanding job of rallying his team from a
disappointing season a year ago. Even after getting rolled up in the season
opener versus Louisville, the Wildcats bring a
3-3 record into Tiger Stadium and are playing with confidence after almost
Carolina last weekend. But remember, this is still
has more talent, experience and depth than the Wildcats and that alone should
produce a lopsided victory in LSU's favor. The Tigers will roll up Kentucky, but
maybe not by the 40-point margin of victory fans are accustomed to at home this
season. LSU will net another easy win and will give fans another week to mull
over just how good this team could be.
