The Tigers take their final step outside SEC play this season. LSU will head into an open date next weekend before heading to Tennessee. While Fresno has a history of playing the big boys welkl, LSU should roll.
Fresno State has never played at LSU. The
Bulldogs have a reputation of playing "anyone, anywhere" and have a history of
knocking off big name teams in the past, i.e. Oregon
State, Colorado, Colorado State, Washington, Wisconsin,
California and Kansas State. The Bulldogs also took defending
national champion USC to the limit losing 50-42 last season. Fresno isn't intimidated
by big stadiums and high profile teams.
Advantage: Fresno State
But don't kid yourself, this
State team is pretty bad.
Yes, that game against Southern Cal last season
was one of the most exciting games in recent memory. But since then, the
Bulldogs have lost nine of their last 10 games, including a 68-37 loss at
Saturday. The Bulldogs did have a close one with Oregon earlier in the year, but FSU has lost to the likes
State. Fresno State has a
lot of grit, but the Bulldogs are mediocre on offense and bad defensively. Look
for LSU to roll up another lopsided victory and head into the open date with
squarely in its sites.
