Scott is all set up to visit LSU

Whenever Alabama comes to town it is always a big-time atmosphere at LSU and that is exactly why 4-star cornerback James Scott chose that weekend for his official visit.

James Scott, a 5-10, 165-pounder with 4.5 speed, is one of the top cover corners in the Sunshine State and despite his size he is also known for laying the wood on opposing receivers.

LSU would like to sign one more corner in this class and Scott is one the staff would love to bring in. He spoke with LSU coaches yesterday to help work out the kinks in his itinerary for his official visit to Baton Rouge this weekend and everything is ready to go.

"We talked about my plans and when I would arrive and when I need to leave and stuff like that," said Scott. "I'm looking forward to this trip. It should be fun.

"I want to see the city, meet the people and experience the atmosphere because this will be my first game in Tiger Stadium. I've never seen a game there, but I've heard stories."

Scott has already been on one official visit this year, a trip to Ohio State earlier in the season.

"I kind of know what to expect, but at the same time, this is a totally different school," he said. "I mean, I've really only taken the one official, but I've been to a few Florida games this year. I've got three more planned for the rest of the year. I'm going to Alabama next week, Tennessee on December 8th and I was supposed to go to Florida on December 2nd, but now I think I'll have to reschedule that."

Because LSU and Tennessee are two of the schools he is taking official visits to this year, Scott said he was able to catch a little bit of last week's game.

"I just love the atmosphere of an SEC football game," he said. "You've got to be ready to play week in and week out or you'll get beat. I just like the players themselves, who represent the SEC. I saw a lot of hard hitting in that game and that's something that impressed me."

Scott said that while he is looking at teams' depth charts, early playing time won't be a huge factor in his decision.

"Well, it's not a big factor, but if the opportunity provides itself, I will not be afraid to step in and take over," said Scott.
