PREVIEW: First look at the Tide

The Tigers ran their November winning streak to 12 straight, a stretch that dates back to the 2003 season, with a 28-24 come-from-behind win over then-No. 8 Tennessee last Saturday in Knoxville. LSU kept its chances for an SEC title alive as they ran their record to 7-2 overall and 3-2 in the SEC. Alabama fell to 6-4 overall and 2-4 in SEC play with a 24-16 setback to Mississippi State last week.

Alabama RB vs. LSU LB

Kenneth Darby vs. Ali Highsmith

Kenneth Darby is a seasoned SEC veteran who has experienced all the recent ups and downs in the Alabama football program. Darby, who was a stalwart in helping the Tide go 10-2 last season, called last week's loss to Mississippi State humiliating. Darby is the Crimson Tide's leading rusher, however, he has yet to score a rushing touchdown this season. Darby has to be hungry for the end zone and Ali Highsmith is going to be called on to make sure he doesn't leave Tiger Stadium satisfied.

Alabama LB vs. LSU RB

Juwan Simpson vs. Keiland Williams

Maybe all the hype was worth it during the recruiting process. While the recruitment of Keiland Williams didn't quite reach the hype of Ryan Perrilloux or JaMarcus Russell, there was plenty of drama prior to Williams' delayed arrival this past August. Williams seems to have proven his worth in having a breakout performance at Tennessee last weekend when the true freshman ran 17 times for 53 yards and a touchdown. Juwan Simpson leads the Tide in tackles (63 total) and will make things as difficult as possible for Williams to have a repeat performance.

John Parker Wilson

QB, Soph.

6-3, 213

Hoover HS

Hoover, Ala.

John Parker Wilson has had his moments this season for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Wilson has topped the 200-yard mark in seven of 10 games this season for Alabama with a season-high of 253 yards coming in the season opener versus Hawaii. However, Wilson has struggled as of late throwing for just 158 yards against Tennessee, 72 versus Florida International and 187 in the Tide's most recent loss to Mississippi State. Wilson has completed 158 of 278 passes for 1,996 yards. He has 12 touchdowns on the season offset by seven interceptions. Five of those seven picks came in losses to Florida (3) and Mississippi State (2).
