Chris Little gets visit from Doug Mallory

LSU has not been heavily in the mix for 4-star offensive tackle Chris Little but the coaches hope that will change following his official visit this weekend.

"I'm trying to see if I can get LSU into the mix with Notre Dame, Florida, Clemson and Georgia," said the big 6-5, 340-pounder from Jeffersonville (Ga.) Twiggs County. "I didn't really consider them much but my coach said Baton Rouge is a nice place and that I needed to check them out. If the visit goes well then they will be one of my top schools with the others."

The last three days have been hectic for Little as on Sunday he entertained coaches from Georgia and on Monday he had members of the Clemson Tiger staff stop by.

Today (Tuesday) it was a Tiger of a different breed as LSU defensive backs coach Doug Mallory paid him a visit.

"He stayed for about an hour and a half," Little told Tiger Rag. "This was my first time to talk to him in person because he came down during the spring but he couldn't talk to me then."

What did Mallory and the mammoth offensive line target discuss?

"We were talking about the official visit and he was breaking down the academic side of things with my parents," Little explained. "We talked a lot about Baton Rouge and how the city is and what to expect to see on my trip."

Along with academics, early playing time is going to be a big influence in Little's decision and he said that Mallory went into the depth chart a little.

"He showed me what the depth chart will look like after they graduate their seniors but coach (Stacey) Searels (offensive line coach) is going to go into that in a lot more depth this weekend," Little said.

Little had already made an official to Notre Dame and he has Florida scheduled for the weekend after LSU.

Can the Tigers make things interesting in the battle for this U.S. Army All-American?

Stay tuned as Tiger Rag will give you the scoop on Chris Little's visit on Sunday.
