LSU makes up ground on Scott

LSU is in dire need of a versatile defensive back that can flip flop from corner to safety and the coaches had one of the best in the country in town for his official visit over the weekend in 4-star safety Christian Scott.

Christian Scott, a 6-foot, 195-pounder with 4.5 speed, had previously taken officials to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State so he had some high expectations heading into his trip to Tiger Town.

Did the trip meet his expectations?

"It was good," Scott said as he was walking to his gate to board his plane home. "I enjoyed it a lot. Everything went about like coach Monken had told me it would."

So, how did it stack up to his trips to Norman and Stillwater?

"How would I compare it to those two," he said. "I probably did have a little bit more fun at LSU than the other two."

Going into the trip Scott told Tiger Rag that he had to put the Sooners and Cowboys as his top two because he had already seen both places.

Did LSU make up any ground?

"It's LSU and OU now," he said. "I like those two a little more than Oklahoma State but not much. I'd have to think about it a little more but I'd probably put LSU and OU dead even."

One thing the LSU staff will have to overcome is the distance factor as LSU is twice as far from Dallas as Norman is.

Will that be a huge factor in his decision?

"It's not going to be a huge factor but if it came down to where everything was even all the way down then I would probably consider the distance thing," explained Scott.

Back to the visit, Scott said his host for the weekend was Jai Eugene and that he also spent quite a bit of time with Ricky Dixon and Stefoin Francois.

As for the highlight of the trip, Scott said that would be an easy one.

"Eating breakfast with Les Miles was really cool," Scott said.

Not far behind his breakfast with the Tigers' headman was seeing everything he would have at his disposal if he were to choose LSU.

"The facilities were second to none," said Scott. "Both the academic facilities and the weight room on down to the stadium was some of the best I had seen. The facilities were probably about even with Oklahoma."
