Tiger Rag: Drake, what was it that made you make the switch from Ole Miss to LSU?
Nevis: "Basically, it was the convenience of staying close to home with several other things. I like the strength coach, coach (Tommy) Moffitt, and their academic center that gets you going in the right direction as soon as you get there. Based on previous success, LSU is a good place to play football and NFL scouts keep a close eye on LSU every year."
Tiger Rag: Have you talked to anyone from Ole Miss since you committed to LSU?
Nevis: "I plan to talk to them later today."
Tiger Rag: How do you think that will go?
Nevis: "I don't know. I'm just going to tell them that I made the decision of where I'm going to go and that I have to do what is best for myself."
Tiger Rag: How did it feel when you realized LSU was the place you wanted to play your college football and when you told coach (Les) Miles?
Nevis: "It was a good feeling. Growing up, I always was an LSU fan. Now, I get to see what it's like to go to school there and to play there."
Tiger Rag: When did you realize that LSU was the place for you and what made you decide on your visit?
Nevis: "I've been praying about it but when I went to coach (Larry) Porter's church I knew that it was the place for me. There was no sense to wait until signing day because now I can be at peace and concentrate on my school work."
Tiger Rag: Do you still plan on visiting Auburn?
Nevis: "I haven't talked to my parents yet so I don't know."
Tiger Rag: Do you consider your commitment a soft one or do you think it is solid?
Nevis: "It's solid. In my best interest I think LSU is the best place for me."
Tiger Rag: I know you talk to Chad Jones and Joe McKnight. Do you have anything to say to them and other guys LSU is after?
Nevis: "I've talked to Chad and I don't have to worry about him. But, I have to talk to McKnight and a couple of other guys and tell them we are going to do something big at LSU."
