big 6-6, 270 pound offensive tackle will be doing a daily diary with Tiger Rag
to let LSU fans know the ins and outs of his experience and this is what Josh
had to say about his first full day in the
Dec. 31, 2006
We woke up around 7 and was supposed to leave at 8:30 for practice but we didn't leave until like 9 because we only have one bus for each team and it took the East team to its stadium and the bus driver took a wrong turn so he didn't get us to our stadium for practice until something like 9:30. We practiced from about 9:30 to 11:30 then we went and had lunch from 12-1. Then we had to be back for practice again at 1:30 and went to about 3:30. We are supposed to have two hour practices each time but coach Outlaw said that we will probably go about an hour and forty minutes each time.
We are supposed to have a little downtime in between practices from here on out and they have a lobby room filled up with X-Box's and TV's for us. Me and Jarrett watched a little of the NFL Today and stuff and we watched some games the little time we had.
As for practice, they have Jarvis (Jones) at left tackle and Darius Weems at right tackle and then I worked in at both spots since I can play either one. Coach Outlaw said that he is going to try and get me some snaps on defense like on third down but we are still not sure about it.
The whole bus ride home after practice we were all sitting around talking about how practices went and how we are used to having like one or maybe two real good players on our high school team but now we are surrounded by talent. I was talking to Jarrett (Lee) about it last night the fact that he throws the ball and anyone who catches it has a chance to score. As far as the lines go, we have a whole bunch of good studs that can play and then you have Chad Jones back there on defense too.
Whenever I talked to you this morning I was talking to Jarvis and then Jarrett came over and we were talking about LSU and stuff like that. DeAngelo Benton hasn't showed up yet so we don't know if he is going to make it so I haven't been able to talk to him. It's real cool hanging out with all of these guys and knowing that we are going to be teammates at LSU.
Tonight, we are going to eat dinner about 6 o'clock and then we are going to take some shuttles over to the Boardwalk for some events over there and then staying up until Midnight and kicking off the New Year then hitting the sack so we can wake up for practice in the morning.
We're about to go eat some dinner so I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Have a Happy New Year.
