Francois is back from San Antonio

Scout.com's fifth rated safety in the country Stefoin Francois (6-1, 190, 4.5) spent last week in San Antonio at the U.S. Army All-American Game and his showing could end up elevating his ranking even higher.

The Reserve (La.) East St. John product worked extensively at cornerback and also spent a little time at his regular spot on the field.

How much of an adjustment was it for him to make in such a short stint?

"It wasn't too much of an adjustment because in high school I would line up against the best receiver on the other team," said Stefoin Francois. "I just had to get more reps because you're on an island by yourself. As the week went on I started progressing and got better at it and I think did pretty well during the game."

Francois is #1

Now, that Francois is back home from San Antonio he knows that the recruiting process is about to heat up as coaches try and fill the remaining spots they have open.

Thus far, Francois has taken an official visit to Arkansas and LSU and he said has four schools in line for remaining three trips.

"I've got two set up and I need to set one more up," he said. "I have Tennessee and Florida State set up and right now it looks like it is out of Clemson and Florida for the last one."

While he was in San Antonio, Francois got a call from LSU running backs coach Larry Porter and the two chatted for a little bit.

"He (Porter) was really just keeping in touch with me and seeing how the recruiting process has been going and where I am at with the whole situation," said Francois. "I told him that I am still wide open but really liking LSU. I just told him that I need to wait and give everyone a chance and then make a decision after that."

Francois said that he would like to take all five of his trips and that his decision could go all the way to signing day.

However, he also knows that it is getting down to crunch time.

"At this point right now, I think I'm going to take all my visits and then decide but things can change," he said.
