They say a lot of truth is said in jest.
4-star wide receiver Ron Brooks said that he had so much fun hanging out with people like Luther Davis and Stefoin Francois at the Army All-American game that they all joked about living in the same dorm room at LSU.
"We were kidding around saying how we'd share a room at LSU next year," said Brooks. "We were just joking, but knowing cool people like that at a place you are going to go to school is something I think is important and is something I will consider when I make my decision. We all got pretty cool. They were talking to me and trying to get me to go to LSU, but that's something I was considering anyway."
As close as the three got over the past week did that do anything to help LSU's cause?
"Right now, I'd say I am leaning to LSU," said Brooks. "They've always been a team on my list and this weekend only helped their cause."
As for the game this weekend, Brooks said it was a great learning experience.
"We won, which was good because they other team had won the past couple of years," said Brooks. "I truly believe that this helped me become a better player. I mean, you're going against the best guys with the most talent."
Brooks said he played inside receiver and caught two balls but he also said he dropped a potential touchdown.
"I went up mostly against linebackers and safeties, so I didn't get much coverage from the corners," he said. "It definitely helped to have a great quarterback. I mean, they put the ball on the money almost every time."
Brooks said he hopes this last four weeks of recruiting will be helpful to him.
"I just want to find a place with the best coaches and a place where my abilities will help the team the most," said Brooks.
