"It was a lot of fun," Jasper said of his official visit. "It really put things into perspective for me."
"We (Andrew) hung out for two nights in a row," said Jasper. "He's a cool guy. We had a lot of fun together and got pretty close."
Some Tiger fans have wondered why LSU would take two kicking specialists in the same class and Jasper said that was covered when he and Crutchfield talked to the coaches.
"We talked about what our roles would be," explained Jasper. "They pretty much said that both of us will have a chance to win the job and to compete for any of the three slots. We will both be competing to do kickoffs, kick field goals and to punt."
Jasper said that he feels that at this stage he is better equipped to handle the kicking chores but he will be working on another aspect of his game.
"Right now, I am better at field goals and kicking off but I'm pretty decent at punting," he said. "I'm going to work hard on my punting from here on out so I can be ready when I get there."
Jasper said that he and Crutchfield will both enroll in summer school and will both count towards the 2007 class.
