Last season for the Bears, the 6-foot, 220-pounder racked up over 1,700 yards and 26 touchdowns on the ground. He also caught passes for 621 yards and three touchdowns, and earned Class 5A First Team All-State.
The Carencro native attended LSU's Junior Day over the weekend and was impressed with everything that he saw but it's what he heard from Les Miles that really caught his attention.
"He basically told me that they were interested in me and that they'd like to get me into their program," said Landry. "He just told me to keep my grades up and an offer would be coming. I pretty much had a basic idea of what LSU was like. I think I just got more details on this trip. After meeting with the coaches, I feel like if I were to go there, I'd be a guy they would really help out."
Landry admitted that he has always had a soft spot in his heart for the Tigers.
"Since I was a small child I wanted to play for LSU," he said. "I've been watching them since I can remember. I like the atmosphere and the fact that I've watched them for so long and thought about having a chance to play for them since I was a small child."
Along with LSU, Landry has a few other schools he is interested in with one in particular.
