Brandon Moore calls Miles

Brandon Moore will be a huge target for any quarterback to throw to in college; he just hopes that it will be some where warm.

The 6-6, 260-pound tight end out of Ohio pulled down 20 catches for 350 yards and five touchdowns last year which was good enough to land all-state and all-conference awards.

What separates Moore from most tight ends?

"My receiving skills are great," said Moore who moved to receiver last year when his offense switched to the spread offense. "Also, I'm a lot faster than most tight ends."

Thus far, the Trotwood-Madison product has received 22 offers but early in the game he has a solid top five.

"Right now, my top schools are Georgia, LSU, Clemson, Michigan and Florida State," said Moore. "They're all winning programs and I like the way they use their tight end."

LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini and offensive line coach Greg Studwara both have strong ties up in Big 10 country but most of Moore's contact has been with the Tigers' top dog.

"I talked to Les Miles last week and he was just telling me how warm and nice the weather was down there," said Moore. "It was cold here that day and I just really like the warm weather a lot. We didn't talk much about football. I think he's a real cool guy and easy to get along with. He's a good coach."

In the past, former LSU offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher did not utilize the tight end in the passing game very much but that is expected to change now that Gary Crowton is running things.

"I like how they say they are going to use their tight end in the offense and I think it would be a good school to go to," said Moore. They say their tight ends will get a lot of passes thrown their way and that's what I like to hear."

Note**Academics are also very important to Moore. He is currently ranked No. 1 in his class with a 4.28 GPA. He scored a 22 on his ACT the first time he took it and said he plans to take it again to try to improve that score. He said he plans on majoring in pre-med or engineering once he arrives at college.
