The 6-7, 250 pounder had not been in Tiger Stadium since the 2005 season and even though it wasn't a real game it was well worth the trip.
"I hadn't been in Tiger Stadium in like a year so it was fun to be back there," said Branch. "The team looked really good. Coach Miles said after the game to imagine how good they'll look when they're all on the same team. It really opened my eyes."

"I talked with the coaches and they explained a lot to me," he said. "We talked about how it would be like to play football in college and the type of schedule I'd have. We talked about how important summer work outs are and things like that."
Commitment was on the big man's mind, but Branch is waiting to make sure he makes the best decision for himself.
"I put some thought into it and I really want to look around and see everything before I commit," he said. "When I commit it will be a sealed deal. I just don't want to wonder, ‘what if' because I really could see me playing at all these schools."
"LSU is definitely my favorite right now," he said. "First of all they are the only school I have visited, but that's not the only reason I like them. My whole family has been big LSU supporters all my life. I have pictures of me as a little kid dressed in a Tiger's uniform."
Branch said his trips to LSU and the relationship he has with the coaches has set the bench mark for which he will compare other schools.
"First of all I'm going to look at their facilities," said Branch. "LSU's facilities are top notch. Academics will be big, too. I talked with some of the tutors while I was there and they were real nice and it just seemed like they really wanted to help you get your degree. LSU has a beautiful campus and I'll be looking for a place that I can be comfortable and live for the next few years that isn't too far form home."
Getting back to the spring game, Branch said he watched closely how LSU involved the tight end and that also opened up his eyes.
"They (tight ends) ran a bunch of routes, but at the same time they weren't running their full packages," said Branch. "They didn't use their three tight end sets and they didn't used the entire play book. I'm sure there is a lot more that I didn't see."
