Jarboe has a close eye on LSU

Josh Jarboe is one of Georgia's top receivers and is also one of the top targets on LSU's board for 2008.

The 6-3, 190-pounder out of Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove claims a 4.38 (40) and recorded 46 catches for 957 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior.

Right now he says he has offers from LSU, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State and Kentucky, with a pretty solid top five.

"My top schools at this point are Ohio State, Georgia Tech, LSU, Georgia and Florida," said Jarboe. "I think that Ohio State, LSU and Georgia would be the leaders right now because they are real teams and they pass the ball. They are also known for their academics."

What drew him to LSU?

"They keep big-time quarterbacks on their roster and I like quarterbacks," he quipped. "They also have put some guys in the NFL."

LSU linebackers coach Bradley Dale Peveto is the recruiting coach for Jarboe and the two spoke on Wednesday

"I called him yesterday (Wednesday) and he was just asking how I was doing," said Jarboe. "He's a really cool guy and I like talking to him. He told me he likes how elusive I can be after I catch the ball, along with my size and speed."

So far, Jarboe has only visited Georgia Tech as he went there for their junior day.

However, there could be an unofficial visit to LSU on the horizon.

"I'm supposed to take a trip to LSU soon," said Jarboe. "I'll have to talk with coach Peveto about it next time I talk to him. I'll probably just go for a weekend and I am going to try to take other visits as well."

Jarboe said he has a clear plan of what he wants in a school and it is on par with many other prospects this day and age.

"I'm looking for a good campus, a great coaching staff and good academics; I've got to learn something," he said.

Note** Jarboe has a 2.6 and has taken the ACT and SAT but said he needs to retake them.
