2008 Louisiana Profile: Ron Alexander

College coaches do not make their way to Marksville (La.) too often but this year they will venture to those parts to evaluate the Tigers' defensive end Ron Alexander.

Ron Alexander, a 6-2, 265-pounder with 5.1 speed, was a first team all-district selection as a junior, along with picking up honorable mention all-state honors. He finished the year with 63 tackles, including five for a loss, and six sacks.

One of the many things that Alexander brings to the table is versatility and that could come into play when coaches evaluate his stock.

"His future should be as a defensive end but he can also play inside if needed," said Marksville head coach J.T. Dunbar. "He is strong, physical and very athletic for a big guy. He also has a motor that never stops."

Alexander is still waiting on his first offer but is receiving interest from a number of schools.

"He's getting stuff from Georgia Tech, Duke, Tulane, Southern Miss, and all of the in-state schools like Tech (La. Tech), UL-Lafayette and UL-Monroe."
