More schools come calling for Green

Wednesday was a big day for River Ridge (La.) John Curtis cornerback Robby Green (6-0, 170, 4.5) as he picked up an offer from the defending national champions and from one of the top teams in the Big East.

"West Virginia came by school to watch me and P.J. Smith and then they sent me a text later in the day asking me to call them," Green said. "I called them after school and they said I had an offer."

The offer from the Mountaineers was actually the second piece of good news Green received as earlier that morning he got a message from the Gators.

"The coach from Florida called my coach and I called him back and he said ‘what is all of this stuff we're reading about you and USC and LSU'," said Green. "They said now it's time to make you a Gator and to let you know we want you."

With his two latest scholarship offers Green now claims tenders from LSU, USC, Ole Miss, Alabama, Clemson and Tulane, along with West Virginia and Florida.

Have any of the new developments pushed anyone to the top of his list?

"No," he said with a laugh. "I'm still wide open and just taking everything in and getting ready for spring practice."
