Hill has LSU in Top 5

LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini knows the landscape of the Buckeye State as well as anyone and he has his foot in the door with several of Ohio's top prospects.

One of those prospects is Youngstown-Cardinal Mooney linebacker Taylor Hill and he has an offer from the Tigers.

The 6-2, 205 pound linebacker runs a 4.6 40 and had an impressive junior campaign with 98 tackles and 12 sacks.

In addition to the LSU tender, Hill has offers from Akron, Indiana, Miami of Ohio, Pittsburgh, Oklahoma, Syracuse and Michigan State. Out of that group he also has a solid top five.

"Right now my top five is LSU, Oklahoma, Syracuse, Michigan State and Pittsburg," said Hill. "They don't have anything in common; they are all just schools that I really like right now."

A few coaches have been by Cardinal Mooney so far this spring but LSU is not one of them. However, Pelini and a couple of others are expected to make the trip up North to check out Hill and his three teammates that also boasts an offer from the Tigers.

"So far schools who have visited me are Syracuse, Pittsburg, Penn State and a whole lot of other schools," said Hill. "Right now I don't really have a favorite; I'm keeping them all at the same level until I can find out more about each school."

Baton Rouge is a long way from Youngstown, so what did LSU do to get on his short list?

"They are just a good program and are very respected," said Hill. "I think my physicalness and aggressiveness are tough for other teams to handle and I think that would fit in well with their style of play."

Hill said that he hopes to make it down to LSU this summer with his teammates but if not then they will all likely visit together in the fall.
