Fuller Likes the Tigers

With the absence of two-first round wide receivers, LSU will hope to fill those voids with big wide outs like 6-4, 198-pound Jeffrey Fuller.

Last season, Jeffrey Fuller pulled down 26 catches for 326 yards and three touchdowns in a run-oriented offense.

The McKinney (Texas) Boyd product earned second team all district honors for his efforts and has racked up 21 offers so far.

"I have started to narrow it a little bit," said Fuller. "In no particular order I like LSU, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida, Texas A&M and Wisconsin. All of those schools have great academics and really that is what the most important thing is right now."

LSU receivers coach D.J. McCarthy is doing his best to get Fuller to Tiger Town and the two are starting to build a pretty strong bond.

"Coach Mac texted me the other day and we talk pretty often," said Fuller. "I call and talk with him or text him just about every other day. He's a pretty cool guy."

Academics will have a heavy hand in Fuller's decision but he is also a big fan of college football. He loves the pageantry that comes with it and LSU's tradition is something he has taken note of.

"They are a winning program with great academics which is really important to me right now," said Fuller. "Plus they like big receivers. One thing that most guys would see as a negative, but that I like, is the fact that there are a lot of good receivers there already. I thrive on competition and I know it would make me a better player to have to beat out those guys. It would be a great situation for me."

As far as LSU putting two receivers in the first round of the NFL draft, Fuller said that is something that he isn't thinking about right now.

"Of course my goal would be to make it to the NFL, but right now I'm really focused on college and getting and education," said Fuller. "It's definitely something I'd like to pursue in the future."

Fuller said he would like to make it to the campus of LSU because he has never been, adding that he would like to plan a trip this summer. However, so far, he only has scheduled one summer camp at the University of Texas.

"I don't have a problem leaving Texas," said Fuller. "As long as I can come back and visit for the holidays, I'll be alright."
