LSU Sitting In Finley's Top 5

One of the top prospects in the south is Scout.com 4-star safety Dee Finley and he has set his top five with LSU making the cut.

The 6-3, 205-pounder out of Auburn, Ala., recorded 50 tackles, eight interceptions and nine pass breakups last season.

So far, Finley has received a total of 16 offers and he has a firm top five that he has zeroed in on.

"Right now, my top five is Auburn, LSU, Florida, Miami and Alabama," said Finley. "I have a good relationship with all the coaches at these schools and they've been recruiting me pretty hard. All of them are known for producing good safeties."

Finley said LSU made its way into the top five after his trip to Baton Rouge on junior day.

"LSU has great coaches and I like the campus a lot," he said. "I had a good time for junior day and look forward to getting back later this summer. I don't plan on doing much camping this summer, so I'll probably just be taking another unofficial visit. I also like all the tradition there."

The big safety is being recruited by LSU tight ends coach Josh Henson.

"I talked to him when he came down for one of my spring practices," said Finley. "He says he likes my speed and size, and how I break on the ball. He said he also likes my ability to cover as well."

One of Finley's favorite players to watch, the recently drafted LaRon Landry, has an impact on the safety.

"He's been one of my favorite players to watch, so when he got drafted so high it had a big affect on me," said Finley. "For me, it means that if I go there and work hard then it could be me in that same place."

With all the schools being of the big name variety, Finley said he's searching for a certain comfort zone.

"I'm going to go to the school that I feel the most comfortable at," he said. "All of these schools are great academically and everything like that, but still I don't want to make a mistake. I don't really have a timetable; it's just going to be when I reach that comfort level."
