Tigers Sitting On Top for Reeves

If Skyline's Spencer Reeves was forced to make a decision on which school he would commit to today, LSU would be that school.

The 6-2, 200-pound linebacker out of Dallas, Texas, recorded 98 tackles last season and has real good speed with a reported 4.5 (40).

So far, Reeves has pulled in offers from 17 schools which include LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, West Virginia, Purdue, Kansas Sate, and Minnesota but he has narrowed it down to three.

"I've tried to get it to five, but there are only three that are in my top teams," said Reeves. "LSU is first followed by Minnesota and Kansas State. I like LSU the most because they are close to home and it's a place my family can come to visit. It's a good school that puts high draft picks in the NFL. I just feel like it would be a good fit for me."

Reeves was visited by LSU receiver coach D.J. McCarthy and head coach Les Miles during this spring's practices.

"I didn't get to talk with them but I've let coach Mac know that they are my number one school at this point," said Reeves. "He said he was looking forward to me letting him know when I decide what I'm going to do."

So what is holding Reeves back at this point?

"It will probably be a little bit longer before I make my decision," he said. "If I had to decide today I'd choose LSU right now. I actually talked with my mom about this today (Thursday) and she supports me. I'll probably decide soon, unless something happens or comes up."

Reeves said he is an attractive recruit for a couple of reasons.

"One thing is my speed," he noted. "When coaches see me on film they see that if I good closing speed and I'm also not afraid to stick my nose in there."

Note** Reeves said he is a B/C student and has not yet taken the SAT or ACT.
