Back From LSU Camp

DeAngelo Peterson (6-2 ½, 195, 4.55) is a big wide receiver who can play on both sides of the ball and this week at LSU's camp he was able to show what he could do at wide receiver.

"I think it went well," said Peterson. "I think I did better than any body else there. The thing I liked best about it was the fact that there was so much competition. I think I did the best because I go out there and take the ball. I also ran the best routes."

As a junior at Desire Street Academy in Baton Rouge, Peterson hauled in 43 passes for 743 yards and six touchdowns. Defensively, he registered 76 tackles from his safety spot in the secondary.

If left up to him, the big physical prospect would much rather play on the offensive side of the ball.

"I'd rather play receiver because that's what I've been playing since day one," he said. "It's what I've worked on the most and it's what I'm used to."

Peterson has received offers from Alabama, Tennessee, West Virginia, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Auburn and Nebraska.

"If LSU were to offer they'd be my favorite," Peterson told Tiger Rag. "Other than them I like Ole Miss, Auburn and Florida. I like those teams the most because they throw the ball the a lot."

What makes LSU his number one team?

"I like the coaches and the stadium," he said. "I haven't been to a game there yet, but just being in there in looks nice. We talked about an offer. I'm pretty confident I'll get one, but I don't have one yet."
