Carnell Stewart and Will Arnold were both absent from practice. Glen Dorsey and Al Woods were both at practice when we first walked in but were both absent when I walked by the defensive line later on.
Richard Dickson was still in a green non-contact jersey. Also, there seemed to be a rash of players injured during practice while we were there. When we first walked in Ron Brooks was receiving treatment on his left ankle on the sideline. Curtis Taylor had a trainer looking at his left shoulder, which I believe is the shoulder he dislocated in the spring game. Demetrius Byrd limped off the field during practice and I saw him later with an ice pack around his left thigh.
Terrance Toliver had some type of wrap or padding on his left knee but he appeared to be moving fine. Jonathan Zenon skipped out on some of the defensive back drills to have trainers look at his left hand.
Chad Jones spent the entire first period working with the running backs again during their position drills. Later on when the running backs went to work with the quarterbacks, Coach Crowton called Trindon Holliday to come participate with them. They worked on running swing routes out of the backfield from the shotgun.
The offensive line was once again standing around for most of the practice listening to Coach Studrawa instructions.
The defensive line was working on agility pass rush drills with the blocking dummies like this morning. Tyson Jackson is very impressive doing these drills. He is extremely quick for someone his size. Also today for the first time I saw Ricky Jean Francois participating in drills. Up until today the routine was usually he only attended afternoon practices, and during those practices he did attend he watched the rest of the defensive lineman go through drills from this side. But today he was going through drills with them.
The linebackers were working on covering running backs out of the backfield again, as well as
Just general pass coverages.
Matt Flynn was throwing passes again this afternoon, but he was not participating in every rep. In fact a few times when they were throwing to the receivers, Flynn would throw the first pass, and then run to the other side of the field for when they throw to the receivers from that side, leaving Perrilloux, Lee, and Hatch to throw to the rest of the receivers in the line. Also for what it's worth Trindon Holliday has been running as the fourth receiver in the lines behind Early Doucet, Brandon LaFell, and Jared Mitchell.
