Jarboe Has Plans to Visit

Some guys struggle playing just one position, but that is not the case for Cedar Grove High School star Josh Jarboe (6'3, 195, 4.45).

Josh Jarboe Profile

During his junior season, the Georgia product took in 974 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Then on the ground, the multi-talented back rushed for 437 yards and 2 touchdowns. Also, to give his quarterback a break, Jarboe threw for 137 yards and Scout.Com's 4-star receiver said there is still more to come.

"That is something that separates me from everyone," Jarboe explained. "I'm always all over the field. This year though on my team, the wide receiver position may not be all that because I'll probably be spending a lot of time at quarterback and running back.

"I do not mind playing those positions for my team. At the next level though, I'd prefer to focus solely on the wide receiver position. We have a jamboree this Saturday and then our first real game is on September 1st so we'll just have to wait and see how it turns out."

Speaking of the next level, who is Jarboe really looking at and why?

"I really do not have a favorites list, but I know I will be looking at LSU, Oklahoma, Florida and Tennessee," he said. "Out of that group I am really considering LSU or Oklahoma because I plan on making an official visit to each of those schools."

What factors will go into Jarboe's ultimate decision?

"I'll be looking at the depth charts, the environment on campus and the coaching staff," he answered. "I've built a pretty good relationship with coach Peveto from LSU. He seems like a good person and LSU seems like a team that doesn't mind throwing the ball to its wide receivers. I really like how their team works."

Jarboe said he has a time frame for when people can expect his announcement.

"I plan on visiting all of the schools I am really considering and I know for sure I'll visit LSU and Oklahoma," he said. "I'm certain I'll make a couple of other visits as well and then after my trips I should know where I'd like to spend my next four years.

"So I think I should have it figured out by mid-season or for sure by the end of my senior season. Wherever I go though, I want to play early. Hopefully I can play as soon as I get there."

Note: Jarboe said he performed pretty well in the classroom last school year, but he did not do as well on the SAT and ACT as he would have liked, so he plans on retaking them sometime during this school year.
