Recruiting is catching fire for the Muskogee High School product as well as his senior season.

"Our first official game of the season is this Friday and I'm pretty excited," Owens explained. "We are going up against a team that will be coached by my team's former head coach. He was my coach during my sophomore season, but then he retired and now he will be coaching the enemy. It will be kind of an emotional event."

Owens said he feels it is time to make another move on the recruiting scene. His move will be arriving sooner than later.

"I do not currently have a top 5 list narrowed down, but I should have one made by next week," Owens stated. "My coach and I are going to sit down and seriously look at the situation and see what schools are best suited for me and my game. I would have to say that LSU is definitely up there."

Last season, the gifted Oklahoma product played quarterback. During his sophomore tour though, the superstar wide receiver hauled in 40 receptions for 950 yards and 10 touchdowns. He is the reason why schools have their fingers crossed over his upcoming top 5 list.

"I'll probably make the announcement of my college choice after my season," Owens said. "I want to take some official visits though before I make my decision. However, I am not sure when or where those visits will be.

"I know I'll be considering the prestige of the program, the depth charts and the possibility of playing early." Owens added.

Note: Last school year Owens claims to have maintained a 2.5 GPA as well as having scored a 22 on the ACT.
