"It Was Awesome"

Scout.com's 4 star defensive end Chase Clement (6'5, 240, 4.7) was in Death Valley for LSU's beat down of Virginia Tech. The Thibodaux, Louisiana product told Tigerrag.com he knew what the outcome was going to be before the game even started.

"The visit was awesome," Clement exclaimed. "I wasn't too surprised with the outcome though. I knew that would happen because LSU has the best defense in the country and Virginia Tech doesn't have much of an offense."

On his visit, the nations 12th ranked defensive end, spoke to a few recruits, coaches and one former LSU gridiron superstar.

"At the game I talked to a few recruits," Clement said. "We kind of just shook hands and introduced ourselves.  I also spoke to coach [Les] Miles and Joseph Addai. Coach Miles told me he was happy to see me at the game and he had a spot for me on the team if I wanted it. Addai wished me luck with my senior season."

Clement said the LSU visit was great, but he still has a few other trips he needs to make before announcing his decision in February.

"My top teams are still pretty much the same LSU, Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss, Tulane, and Louisiana Tech," Clement stated. "I've been talking to coaches from Florida and Alabama lately and if possible, those are two schools that I'd like to take an official visit to."

Sometimes recruits will pay attention to the outcome of a game when two of his top schools go head-to-head and Clement will be paying a little more attention to one of the Tigers' November battles.

"I know I'll probably make a trip to Tuscaloosa for the Alabama vs. LSU game," Clement said. "To give you a hint, the outcome of that game might have an affect on my decision."

Note: Over the weekend while playing tight end for E.D White High School, Clement caught 4 passes including one for a touchdown. On defense, he recorded 10 tackles.
