Patchan Tuned In

One Florida product has everything going for him. Matt Patchan (6'7, 265, 4.7) is that guy and he recently spoke to TigerRag.Com about his current state in the recruiting process.

Scout.Com's 5-star offensive tackle has played in 2 games this season and is confident in his team's future this season.

"We have our third game coming up this weekend," Patchan said. "We're doing extremely well and I am pleased with my team's performances. Me on the other hand, well, I'm the type of person that is never satisfied with myself. I am always striving to get better and to get my game as close to perfect as possible. I strive for perfection."

Patchan's phone and mail box has been blowing up lately it seems as schools from across the country have been hitting him up.

"I've been in contact with all of my top teams," Patchan stated. "I've spoken with coaches from LSU, Florida, Miami, Florida St. and Ole Miss. USC has also started calling me as of late."

The # 3 ranked lineman did not take any trips last weekend but he said he had his T.V. tuned into a certain game last Saturday night.

"I watched the LSU vs. Virginia Tech game Saturday night," Patchan stated. "I thought LSU really took it to them on all levels. LSU has so much talent across the board at every position. They showed Virginia Tech and the entire country they were the better team. LSU obviously has the best defense in the nation."

The Armwood High School superstar said he was bothered by something though after all of the weekend's games were finished.

"I was looking at the polls the other day and I saw that USC was still ranked #1 and LSU was ranked #2," Patchan informed. "I think that is wrong because LSU dominated two decent teams and look at who USC beat. They only played in one game on top of that. I think LSU should be ranked #1."

Patchan said his top teams are still the same as the last time he spoke with TigerRag.com and his decision will come after he makes his official visits. He says he is currently debating which visits he will make and which he will eliminate from his list of possibles.

"My top five teams are still LSU, Florida, Miami, Florida St. and Ole Miss," he said. "I'm pretty sure I'll be checking out LSU on an official visit before long."
