Clement will be in Tuscaloosa's 4-star defensive end Chase Clement (6'5, 240, 4.7) caught up with recently to discuss his upcoming visit to Alabama and what effect that visit may have on LSU.

"Everything has been going good," said Clement. "I'm making good grades in school and football is going great as well. On the year, I think have somewhere around 12 carries for 200 yards, 14 catches including 3 touchdowns and around 80-90 tackles."

The E.D. White Catholic High School product also discussed this upcoming weekend and what his expectations are heading into the big LSU vs. Alabama showdown.

"I am heading to Alabama this weekend for their game against LSU," Clement stated. "I will be going up there with my coach, his wife, their kid, my mom and my dad. I am going to watch the game and to see a natural butt whipping by one of these teams.

"I also want to check out the game day atmosphere and the Alabama coaching staff," Clement added. "I speak to coaches from LSU and Alabama every week. They usually both call me on Tuesday nights so I am expecting to hear from them later tonight. I haven't told the LSU coaches yet that I am making a trip to Alabama this weekend, but I am sure they will not mind."

Previously, Clement informed the outcome of the game may be a factor in his final decision. Is this still the case?

"Yes," Clement answered. "Depending on how the game goes and how each team looks may lean me a certain way. I guess you never really know though until it happens."

The #10 ranked defensive recruit also offered up his prediction on the game.

"To be honest with you, I think Alabama is going to win this weekend," Clement said. "After watching the past three LSU games, I am not sure if the LSU coaches are trying to save the best for last or if they think they are going to make it to the title game and so they are saving some stuff for it. For example, in the Kentucky game I thought they should have used Ryan Perrilloux more. I am still wondering why they didn't.

"With that said, I think the recent Perrilloux incident at that night club may be a distraction for LSU especially if he is not going to play as much or at all this weekend," Clement added. "I think it could possibly bring the team down and then with Alabama's home field advantage it may be really tough for LSU to win. Then on top of all of that there have been a lot of upsets in college football this season so really anything could happen."

Clement said he will not make his announcement until after his season is over, but he did confirm his top 3 teams.

"My top three teams are LSU, Alabama and Florida," Clement informed. "I feel like I have a good relationship with all of the coaches from those schools.

"I've been getting some pressure from my family though to pick LSU, but I know they want what's best for me in the end," Clement continued. "I know they do not want me to go far either and as far my friends, well they are backing me no matter what."

Note: As a junior, Clement was district MVP on the defensive side of the ball and was an honorable mention all-state selection. He recorded 79 tackles and 3 sacks playing middle linebacker and pulled down 12 receptions for 182 yards and 2 TDs at tight end.
