Drive: 10 plays, 44 yards, 3:24

Scoring Play: Leigh Tiffin 36 FG

Clock: 12:30

Drive Started: At Alabama's 38 following a 29 yard kickoff return

Key Play: On third and 10 from the Alabama 48, John Parker Wilson hooked up with Matt Caddell for a gain of 32 yards to the LSU. The pass was underthrown and Caddell made an adjustment to catch the pass behind LSU's Danny McCray. It was the Crimson Tide's second third down conversion of the drive.

LSU 3, Alabama 3

Drive: 11 plays, 59 yards, 6:25

Scoring Play: Colt David 43 FG

Clock: 6:05

Drive Started: At LSU's 15 following a seven-yard return by Trindon Holliday

Key Play: LSU's offense moved the ball at will against the Crimson Tide defense using both the run and the pass. Matt Flynn completed two long passes to Richard Dickson and Early Doucet and the Tigers faced a first and five from the Alabama seven. But the Tigers went backwards from that point. A motion penalty, a loss of three yards by Jacob Hester and two straight running plays by Flynn that netted minus-11 yards resulted in David's 43-yard field goal.

LSU 10, Alabama 3

Drive: 3 plays, 12 yards, :59

Scoring Play: Matt Flynn 10 pass to Early Doucet

PAT: Colt David kick

Clock: 4:30

Drive Started: At Alabama's 12 following Chevis Jackson's 16-yard interception return

Key Play: LSU had the ball inside the Alabama 15 on its previous offensive possession and came up with only three points. Following Chevis Jackson's impressive interception, the Tigers finally made it hurt. Facing third and eight from the Crimson Tide 10, Matt Flynn hooked up with Early Doucet on a perfectly blocked slip screen. Doucet motored his way 10 yards and somersaulted into the end zone for the touchdown.

2ND QUARTER

LSU 17, Alabama 3

Drive: 6 plays, 54 yards, 2:19

Scoring Play: Jacob Hester 1 run

PAT: Colt David kick

Clock: 14:56

Drive Started: At LSU's 46 yard that wasn't returned

Key Play: Leading by a touchdown, you got the feeling LSU might take a shot deep with good field position. The Tigers did so in bit of an unconventional manner. On a double-reserve, Jacob Hester handed off to Early Doucet, who then doubled back to the wide side of the field. Doucet then pulled up to throw and hit a wide open Matt Flynn for a gain of 35 yards down the Alabama 29.

LSU 17, Alabama 10

Drive: 3 plays, 80 yards, :56

Scoring Play: John Parker Wilson 67 pass to D.J. Hall

PAT: Leigh Tiffin kick

Clock: 11:03

Drive Started: At Alabama's 20 following a 40-yard Patrick Fisher punt

Key Play: It looked as if the Tigers had come up with a huge stop deep in Alabama territory. John Parker Wilson's pass fell incomplete on third and 12 from the Crimson Tide 18, but Tyson Jackson was flagged 15 yards for a personal foul, rough the passer penalty. On the next play, Wilson hit a wide open D.J. Hall for a 67-yard touchdown pass allowing the Tide to cut the lead to seven points.

LSU 17, Alabama 13

Drive: 4 plays, 6 yards, :54

Scoring Play: Leigh Tiffin 21 FG

Clock: 6:12

Drive Started: At LSU's 10 following a Matt Flynn interception

Key Play: LSU continued shooting itself in the foot. Jacob Hester picked up 12 yards for a first down to the LSU 21. But an illegal formation penalty backed the Tigers into a second and 11 from the four. Matt Flynn attempted a pass in the flat, which was picked off by the Tide. The LSU defense held on three straight plays forcing Tiffin's 21-yard field goal.

Alabama 20, LSU 17

Drive: 2 plays, 30 yards, :21

Scoring Play: John Parker Wilson 29 pass to Keith Brown

PAT: Leigh Tiffin kick

Clock: 0:44

Drive Started: At LSU's 20 following a Matt Flynn interception returned by Jackson, plus a 15-yard penalty by Jacob Hester

Key Play: Driving from their own 17, it looked as if the Tigers were moving in for a late second quarter score. Facing third and two from the Alabama 23, Matt Flynn felt some pressure from the Tide defensive front. Flynn shook loose from a would-be tackled, and hurled an ill-advised pass in the direction of Richard Dickson. However, Kareem Jackson snared the pass and motored 51 yards the other way. Jacob Hester was flagged for 15 yards following the end of the play giving the Tide a first and 10 at the Tigers' 20.

3RD QUARTER

Alabama 27, LSU 17

Drive: 8 plays, 80 yards, 3:07

Scoring Play: John Parker Wilson 14 pass to Keith Brown

PAT: Leigh Tiffin kick

Clock: 1:12

Drive Started: At LSU's 20 following a 48-yard Patrick Fisher punt

Key Play: Alabama moved into LSU territory with a 15-yard pass from John Parker Wilson to Nick Walker and set up shop at the LSU 38. Jonathan Lowe then ripped off a run of eight yards to the Tigers 30. In the process of tackling, Curtis Taylor grabbed Lowe's facemask and was flagged 15 yards giving Alabama the ball at the LSU 15.

Alabama 27, LSU 24

Drive: 2 plays, 72 yards, :59

Scoring Play: Matt Flynn 72 pass to Demetrius Byrd

PAT: Colt David kick

Clock: 0:20

Drive Started: At LSU's 28 following an 18-yard kickoff return by Keiland Williams

Key Play: The Tigers wasted little time responding to Alabama's 10-point lead. Just as it did against Florida and Auburn when trailing by 10 points in the second, LSU came alive. On the second play following Arenas' punt return, Matt Flynn went up top to Demetrius Byrd. Byrd got behind the Crimson Tide secondary and hauled in a perfectly thrown pass from Flynn. He then motored 61 yards for the score.

4TH QUARTER

LSU 27, Alabama 27

Drive: 5 plays, 42 yards, 2:07

Scoring Play: Colt David 49 FG

Clock: 11:21

Drive Started: At LSU's 27 following a 37-yard Alabama punt

Key Play: LSU figured try it til they stop it. Matt Flynn went back to the air and hit Demetrius Byrd for a 35-yard gain to the Alabama 38. The drive stalled, however, and Colt David came on to attempt a 49-yard field goal. It was a race against the play clock and David was forced to set up quickly, but the junior kicker nailed his career-long attempt.

Alabama 34, LSU 27

Drive: No drive

Scoring Play: Javier Arenas 61 punt return

PAT: Leigh Tiffin kick

Clock: 7:33

Drive Started: No drive

Key Play: Les Miles looked as if he would attempt fourth and inches, but opted for a little trickery. The Tigers tried a quick shift to draw the Crimson Tide, but was flagged for illegal motion. In the aftermath of the penalty, a disgusted Carnell Stewart ripped off his helmet, which immediately drew a 15-yard penalty. So instead of fourth and inches at the LSU 36, the Tigers were forced to punt from their own 17 facing fourth and 20. Patrick Fisher's punt settled into the arms of Javier Arenas, who split the LSU punt coverage directly up the middle and went untouched for the touchdown.

LSU 34, Alabama 34

Drive: 10 plays, 84 yards, 2:04

Scoring Play: Matt Flynn 32 pass to Early Doucet

PAT: Colt David kick

Clock: 2:49

Drive Started: At LSU's

Key Play: Fourth down has been very good to the Tigers this season. It seemed fitting LSU grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat on fourth down. Facing fourth and four at the Alabama 32, Matt Flynn found Early Doucet on a crossing route. Doucet first secured the pass in front of Crimson Tide defensive back Javier Arenas, and then found a lane. Picking up a block from Demetrius Byrd, Doucet avoided a pair of Alabama defenders and went streaking into the end zone directly in the face of the Alabama student section.

LSU 41, Alabama 34

Drive: 2 plays, 3 yards, :13

Scoring Play: Jacob Hester 1 run

PAT: Colt David kick

Clock: 1:26

Drive Started: At Alabama's three following Curtis Taylor's fumble recovery

Key Play: With the score tied, Alabama was trying to rally for a late score to pull out the win. Facing third and 12 from he Tide's own 30, John Parker Wilson dropped back to pass, but was rocked by LSU freshman safety Chad Jones. Jones ripped the ball free, which Curtis Taylor recovered at the Alabama three. The Tigers scored two plays later for the go ahead score.
