James a Top Underclassman

Kendrick James (6-0, 215, 4.61) is one of the top prospects in the state of Louisiana for 2009.

As a junior this season while playing for O. Perry Walker High School James racked up 60 tackles, 4 sacks, 2 interceptions, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery.

As a sophomore, he led the team in tackles and was named as an All-District honorable mention.

James claims to not have received any offers as of yet, but they are in the making.

"I do not currently have any offers from anyone," James stated. "I've been to an Oklahoma camp and a 7-on-7 Ole Miss camp so far. In January I will be attending the Army All-American camp for juniors and underclassman in San Antonio, Texas."

The ferocious linebacker may not have any offers, but he does have an idea of the schools he would like to hear from.

"Right now the schools I am interested in are LSU, Oklahoma, Alabama and Florida St," James said. "I will be considering the location of the school, its academic program, the atmosphere on campus, and the current state of the football program.

"I like LSU because it is close to home and has a good football program with the academics to go along with it," James concluded.

Note: James benches 315 lbs. and squats 385 lbs.
