"We play Booker T. Washington in Miami this Friday in a semi-final game," said Patchan. "They have a good team, but we have a good record against them. I think we have beaten them like 5 times in a row now. My team is very confident going into this game, but we know it is going to be a battle.
"If we win this game then we will play for the championship the following week," Patchan continued. "I plan on making my decision sometime during the week after the title game."
Patchan informed TigerRag.com his final 3 teams remain the same.
"Nothing has changed with final 3 teams (LSU, Miami and Florida)," said Patchan. "My phone was broken last week so I haven't really heard from any coach from any of my top teams lately. However, I do expect coaches from all three of those schools to stop by my house for dinner within the next couple of weeks prior to me making my decision."
"With that said though, I am really just trying to focus on my team right now and winning a state title," Patchan added.
Patchan admitted to watching the BCS title show and he was somewhat happy with the outcome of one game in particular.
"I think the title game is great," Patchan exclaimed. 'One of the analyst said Ohio St. had the best offensive line in the country and that enraged me because Ohio State's offensive line is very big, fat and slow. I mean I wonder if they remembered last years title game.
"Honestly I do not think Ohio St. deserves to be in the title game," Patchan stated. "The best team they beat was maybe Michigan or Wisconsin and then they lost to Illinois. But who is Illinois? I feel like Ohio St. did not beat one powerhouse this season and they did nothing to impress me.
Did Patchan have a prediction for the BCS title game?
"Clearly LSU is going to win," Patchan answered. "I think LSU has the perfect coach for this kind of game. Coach [Les] Miles prepares well for big games and those are what he lives for. That is probably his best quality as a coach and that's what makes him such a great coach."
What did it mean to the 5-star lineman to hear coach Miles announce he was staying at LSU?
"I had spoken to him earlier in the year about that," said Patchan. "He assured me then that he was not leaving LSU, but at the time I thought maybe he was just telling me that because I was a recruit. I think it shows me now that he stuck to his word and I feel like he made the right decision by staying at LSU."
